Fabulous Ladies of Food!
Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 04:36PM Our recent shoot for DC Magazine led us to three incredible women. Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne of the chic and tasty Georgetown Cupcakes, were a pure delight! These ladies seriously know how to bake a mean and tasty treat. We used several of the cupcakes in the shoot and then were handed about 13 boxes of them when we left. I think this is when I decided to do P90X!
The Cupcake sisters rocked the heart of Georgetown with the first and only Cupcakery at the time, in February 2008. They started in a small shop in G'town and quickly expanded to a new store and one in Bethesda. Katherine and Sophie are also going to be staring in a new reality show on TLC called DC Cupcakes that airs tomorrow night, Friday, July 16th at 10pm..check it out!!
Alyssa Shelsky of the amazingly hilarious Blog Apron Anxiety has to be one of the coolest chicks I have ever met. She is the fiance of famed Chef Spike Mendelsohn of DC's Good Stuff Eatery among several others. Her Blog highlights the "adventures" of being engaged to a pro chef and her constant quest of "trying to rock the apron and make some grub gracefully."
One of the best things about this shoot is that we got to trash Spike's kitchen, who gets to do that! Alyssa was a total delight and was game for whatever we asked, batter all over her and her floor, smoke rolling out of the oven and food upset all over the countertops, she rocked the shot and looked amazing doing it!
